With the new MacBook Pro finally out, are there any other products coming from Apple in 2021?

It’s highly unlikely. I think the October event just about wraps up Apple’s product releases for 2021, and many leakers don’t expect any more hardware announcements for the year.

There’s always a small chance of new Apple products after October. Just last year, the M1 chip was officially announced in November, powering the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini that launched in the same month. AirPods Max came shortly after in December through a website release. But it’s rare, and 2020 was a year of exceptions due to the supply chain delays from the pandemic.

Here is an overview of Apple’s new products from 2021:

April 2021

  • 24-inch, colorful M1 iMac, M1 iPad Pro, AirTags
  • Purple iPhone 12 and 12 Mini
  • Updated Apple TV with redesigned remote

June 2021

  • iOS 15, iPadOS 15, macOS Monterey, watchOS 8, tvOS 15

July 2021

  • MagSafe Battery Pack

September 2021

  • iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • Apple Watch Series 7, iPad Mini 6, 9th-generation iPad

October 2021

  • 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips
  • Apple Polishing Cloth
  • Airpods 3, HomePod Mini in new colors

I believe most of the rumored products expected for this year have been launched. The long-awaited AirTags, new-generation AirPods and highly-anticipated, redesigned 24-inch iMacs and MacBook Pros have all come to fruition in 2021. It has been a great year for Apple.

At the moment, there are some products left in the pipeline, speculated for an imminent release within the next few months:

  • Second-generation AirPods Pro, with a hit-or-miss rumor of a new case with speaker holes to play alert sounds to assist in locating a lost case using FindMy
  • Larger screen, pro-level iMac to replace the 27-inch Intel iMac and the discontinued iMac Pro
  • Rumored third-generation, lower-cost iPhone SE, featuring the larger screen design of the iPhone 11
  • Redesigned MacBook Air with off-white bezels, a notched screen and a similar design language to the 2021 MacBook Pros

I feel that Apple is likely planning to launch these upcoming products beginning early next year, probably in a Spring event in March or April 2022, rather than trying to squeezing them into the late 2021 timetable.

2021 has been a busy year for Apple, and with the ongoing pandemic and chip shortages, I think Apple has enough on its plate for now.

I don’t anticipate any major new hardware this year, perhaps some insignificant accessories, like new Apple Watch band colors or maybe an Apple Cloth Pro Max?
