Xiaomi
OPPO launched the Reno7 Series in China a few days ago and the first sale was a huge success. The Reno7 Series went sold out in just 15 minutes with sales for 100 million yuan, 150 percent higher than the predecessors from the Reno6 series. The most affordable device from the lineup is currently the OPPO Reno7 SE, but is it really the best value for money phone in its price range? In order to let you find out, we decided to compare the specifications of the OPPO Reno7 SE to the ones of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, another of the latest mainstream mid-rangers launched in the Chinese market. Let’s discover together which one is better.

Design
If you need the phone with the most beautiful design, then you must choose the OPPO Reno7 SE. It comes with a new design language for the rear camera module (which is actually smaller than the ones of the latest devices from the Xiaomi sub-brand) and a great finish for the rear side. It is a more compact device than Redmi Note 11 Pro+ and, despite it having the same battery capacity as the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, it is even thinner (it is just 7.5 mm thin) and lighter (its weight is 171 grams) than its rival. The screen to body ratio is higher on the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, but it is not enough to reach the cuteness of the OPPO Reno7 SE.
Display
On the paper, the display of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is superior if compared to the OPPO Reno7 SE. It is a Super AMOLED display with a wider diagonal of 6.67 inches and a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as a higher peak brightness of 1200 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and it comes with the HDR10 certification and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The only advantage offered by the display of the OPPO Reno7 SE over the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is the in-display with a wider diagonal of 6.67 inches and a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as a higher peak brightness of 1200 nits. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and it comes with the HDR10 certification and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The only advantage offered by the display of the OPPO Reno7 SE over the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is the in-display fingerprint scanner, as it is side-mounted on the latest Redmi mid-ranger. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ even sports stereo speakers tuned by JBL, while the OPPO Reno7 SE has a classic mono speaker.
Hardware/Software
With the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro+, you can get a bit more performance thanks to a stronger chipset: the Mediatek Dimensity 920 built at 6 nm. The Dimensity 900 found on the OPPO Reno7 SE is close, but the Dimensity 920 has higher CPU performance. Further, the Dimensity 920 is paired with UFS 2.2 internal storage and up to 8 GB of RAM. Note that the only important difference in the hardware department of these two devices is the processor and, even in this case, it is just marginal. So you would better focus on the other specifications while choosing the best phone for your needs. Both the phones run Android 11 out of the box, but the OPPO Reno7 SE is customized by ColorOS 12 which will be soon based on Android 12.
Camera
Judging from the specs on the paper, it looks like the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will provide higher camera performance. It packs a 108 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, while the OPPO Reno7 SE sports a 48 MP main camera, and it lacks an ultrawide sensor. However, OPPO phones always provide a great photo quality thanks to an amazing algorithm, so we think it is better to try this phone (and it is still not possible) before giving a definitive verdict regarding the cameras.
Battery
The OPPO Reno7 SE is equipped with a 4500 mAh battery, just like the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. But the OPPO Reno7 SE is likely to last more on a single charge because its display is smaller and more efficient. The fast charging technologies offer the same power: 33W for both handsets.
